The County Assemblies Forum (CAF) Chairperson, Hon. Seth Mwatela Kamanza, Speaker of the Kwale County Assembly, today led a CAF delegation to the 30th Intergovernmental Budget and Economic Council (IBEC) meeting, hosted by the Deputy President, H.E. Prof. Kithure Kindiki, in Karen, Nairobi.
The delegation comprised the Speaker of the Kitui County Assembly, Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya, alongside Hon. Peter Kagwe and Hon. Elizabeth Alila.
The meeting brought together key actors within Kenya’s intergovernmental framework to deliberate on matters critical to public finance management, economic productivity and the effective implementation of devolution.
CAF’s participation underscores the Forum’s commitment to strengthening the role of County Assemblies in intergovernmental engagements and ensuring that legislative perspectives are incorporated in discussions that shape the financing and delivery of devolved functions.
The 30th IBEC meeting provides an important platform for dialogue and collaboration among national and county governments, with discussions aimed at enhancing coordination, accountability and the effective implementation of Kenya’s devolved system of governance.
Through such engagements, CAF continues to advocate for stronger County Assemblies and an effective, accountable and people-centred devolved governance system.
